Swindon Town wing-back Joel McGregor has featured in the League Two team of the week following a brilliant performance away at Cheltenham.
The 18-year-old netted his second ever goal for the Robins as they came out with all three points in Gloucestershire last week.
McGregor won a total of 14 duels and registered four interceptions as he secured an 8.4 rating on WhoScored.
The only other player that performed better statistically in that game was fellow wing-back George Cox, who finished the game with an 8.5 rating.
Cox spoke highly of the young player after Saturday’s match claiming that “he was a threat up the pitch, and defensively he was also really strong.”
He was not the only individual to praise McGregor however, as opposition manager Michael Flynn complimented his display and said he will have a 'bright future'.
“I thought Joel McGregor, their right wing-back, he’s 18 years of age, scores the winner and I think he must have won about 15 headers today.
“That’s an 18-year-old with fire in his belly and he’s gonna have a bright future.”
The Robins face Doncaster this weekend and he must be one of the first names on the team sheet following two great performances last week.
