Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver said that his side never looked in danger of losing during their 0-0 draw with Swindon Town.

Swindon welcomed Harrogate to The Nigel Eady County Ground fresh off of their 5-1 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons in midweek but Town never managed to break through The Sulphurites resistance.

Speaking after the game, Weaver said that he was pleased to have come away with a point and never felt like he would leave Wiltshire without something.

Speaking to club media, he said: “I was pleased with the point, it could have been three but we showed great resolve today with a strong response to the other night’s events.

“I knew we would get a response, we have honest lads and we just had a few aberrations the other night and moments of madness.

“To travel all the way here and dig in like we did showed that the lads want to do it right.

“We were never stretched and we never really looked like we were in trouble.

“I thought there were opportunities [to take three points], with them trying to bring the ball forward it was leaving space in behind and we knew that.

“When Sam [Folarin] came on his pace upset them and we could have had one or two.”

Kennedy said after the game that he felt his team had actually gotten in their own way rather than being suffocated by the opposition.

He said: “I don’t think we found it difficult to get out, where our difficulty came was, particularly on the left side, we blocked our own lanes.

“Quite often Danny Butterworth stood in George’s [Cox] lane, which he shouldn’t do, he should play in the pocket.

“We closed off the three avenues we have that we normally play in, with our pocket runs and our nine runs in behind.

“In the second half, there were multiple occasions when we had the ball in the middle of the park, looking outside, and we looked and saw them and turned them down to check back and then the moment was gone.

“I thought we really turned down opportunities to get crosses into the box, although we got quite a few in, it should have been a lot more and in better areas.

“In the second half we needed to stretch them more by being direct and we became predictable, so you start again which frustrates the fans because they want actions at the top end of the pitch.”
