Aaron Drinan said that the Swindon Town squad is good enough for the playoffs despite their slow start to the season.

After their 0-0 draw against Harrogate Town in which Swindon failed to create much excitement, Town are 21st in League Two with just eight points from ten matches.

Drinan said that he understands the fans' negative reaction to some of the team's displays as he believes this squad is capable of much more.

He said: "It is tough [to hear the fans' displeasure], obviously you never want the home crowd to be booing you or shouting things at you.

"We are trying our best and we don't want to be in the position that we are in, we want to be up in the playoffs at the minimum.

"I believe that we have got a squad in there that is capable of that and I think that we are too good to be where we are.

"We have just got to keep plugging away every single day and in our heads inside that dressing room, we think that everything will turn around.

"Obviously we are missing four really experienced players at the minute, so I think that when we get those back and once we get a win then I think we will be a really strong side."

Drinan said that his biggest disappointment from the display was that Swindon had not built on their better second half at Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

He said: "Obviously we are disappointed not to get the three points.

"Especially if we were able to build on Tuesday then we would have got four points out of nine this week with two of the games being away from home and we probably would have taken that given the circumstances.

"After Tuesday, I thought we played really well and we should have put Tranmere to bed, to be honest, and then today it was disappointing.

"They lost 5-1 last week so we always knew they were going to come here and sit off and try and get any result they can and they are probably the happier of the two.

"As I said, after losing heavily last week we were kind of expecting that but with the way we played on Tuesday we tried to carry that into today and it probably wasn't there when we tried to play through them and we probably weren't good enough to cut them open."
