Jeff King is among the group of experienced players that Swindon Town are awaiting a decision on whether they can feature against Harrogate Town.

During Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw away at Tranmere Rovers, King came off injured during the first half, replaced by Joel McGregor, who thoroughly impressed his manager with his display at Prenton Park.

King had started every league game up to this point but that record could be in jeopardy as a late decision will be made on whether he is available to play.

Prior to facing Harrogate at the Nigel Eady County Ground this Saturday, Mark Kennedy said that he still needed to assess whether or not he would be in condition to play.

He said: “Kingy I need to speak to, I had a very brief conversation with Jackson [Bradley] on him, so I have got nothing obvious to report on him.

“Apologies I am going to be a bit vague on him as I don’t know as of yet.”

Harry Smith is another who is in the maybe category for this weekend's match after illness prevented him from making his return from a three-game suspension against Port Vale or Tranmere, he has the chance to play against the Yorkshire outfit.

Kennedy said: “It was really good news because at one point we had a real concern that it [his illness] might have been something else and it is not.

“He is good, he is back with us, he is over his illness, and he was outside today but what we will have to do is just be careful and see how he is post his session today.”

The head coach was typically tight-lipped about the possibility of either Ollie Clarke or Grant Hall returning to the fray this weekend after the pair have struggled with injury since the draw at Barrow AFC.

Kennedy was asked in more depth about Ryan Delaney, who has still just played once in the league this campaign, although he had no real concerns around him.

He said: “When you miss pre-season, it is positive for anybody and it can be potentially in the Lap of the Gods with the body and what it looks like, all we can do is give him a professional, structured programme in his rehab.

“He got quite a small niggly injury post-Barrow, so that was a little setback but he is fully on track with where he should be.”
