CUMBERWELL Park golfer Laurie Canter continued his strong run of form by finishing in a tie for fifth at last week's Mallorca Open.
Canter's incredible final round of 64 pushed the 31-year-old right up the leader board and bagged him 35,000 euros as well as recording his third top-five finish in his past four starts.
The 77 Race to Dubai points accumulated also nudged Canter up to 22nd in this season's rankings.
The Wiltshire golfer began his week with a two-under-par round of 68 at Golf Santa Pansa before recording an outstanding 66 on Friday that featured six birdies and two bogeys.
Speaking to the European Tour's website after Friday's play, Canter said: "I hung in there well. On a day like this you don't have the same control of the ball.
"I did my best to control the ball, get myself in the right positions and then scramble a little bit."
A tough day on Saturday saw Canter card a level-par round of 70 before a sensational final day's 64 - the joint-third lowest score of the week - helped propel the Wiltshire-based golfer into the tournament's top five.
Canter will enjoy a week's break before facing the final two events prior to the season-ending World Tour Championship in Dubai.
