CALNE bounced back from a defeat to nil against Avonvale with a huge 53-0 success at home to Bradford-on-Avon at the weekend.
The two struggling sides met at Calne Recreation Ground with just five wins between them all year - four of which belonged to the hosts - yet there was only one side who looked like adding to its tally on Saturday afternoon.
The north-west Wiltshire outfit put up over 50 points for the first time this season and climbed into 10th place in Dorset & Wilts One North as a result.
Elsewhere, Warminster and Sutton Benger both fell to defeats.
Warminster’s promotion hopes were dealt a considerable blow on Saturday after they were comfortably beaten 65-5 by Royal Wootton Bassett II.
Warminster’s visitors are now 11 points clear in second after their bonus-point win and are well placed to challenge Avonvale at the top of the division.
Meanwhile, Sutton Benger continue to tread water in mid-table after falling to defeat against Trowbridge II.
Benger were beaten 27-26 by a Trowbridge side that had only won four of their 14 league fixtures.
