CHIPPENHAM RFC have received a generous donation of more than £3,500 from supermarket chain Co-Op.
The Co-op Local Community Fund helps pay for local projects that their members care about.
Every time a Co-op member shops at their store, one per cent of what they spend on selected own-branded products and services goes to help fund community projects where the members live.
They also give all the money raised from their shopping bag sales to the chosen causes to help even more.
After receiving £3,547.67 through the scheme, the board at Chippenham have decided that the money will be used to support the improvement of lighting around the clubhouse to benefit members and community guests who are now using the new artificial grass pitch.
A club statement read: “We are extremely grateful for this donation and would like to take this opportunity to thank the Co-op for choosing Chippenham RFC as a cause, and their members who selected to support us.”
