WILTSHIRE U12s produced some excellent golf on a very testing course to win the Five Counties Championship.
The championship consists of teams from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, with this year’s event taking place at Folke Golf Club in Dorset.
The format sees teams of six players playing 18 holes scratch stableford, with the best four scores counting.
The Wiltshire team of Toby Clark (Cumberwell Park), Ayden Knight (Tidworth), Thomas Le Leivre (Broome Manor), Harry Dickins (High Post), Seth Barfoot (Cumberwell Park), Luka Drinkwater (Wrag Barn) all played superbly in testing conditions to win by eight shots.
Clark also had the added bonus of winning the Five Counties individual title, edging team-mate Dickins into runner-up spot.
Drinkwater also put in a fine performance to finish tied first in the nett competition but just lost out on the prize on countback.
