WILTSHIRE Junior Golf held their presentation day for the 2018 season at Cumberwell Golf Club last month.
The day kicked off with an 18-hole par-three competition, with Tidworth’s Max Wrixon winning the gross competition with 38 stableford points. Milo Flatt, from Broome Manor, won the nett event with 49 points, while the best girl was Niamh Cripps with 31 points.
Junior organiser Ian Welding then began the presentation event, with the U18 Elite Squad honoured for winning the Channel League.
The U16 Elite Squad were runners-up in the Channel League, while the U14 Elite squad were runners-up in the Jack Roberts League. The U12 Elite Squad were come runners up in the South West Five Counties League.
Players also toasted Wiltshire being named county of the year by England Golf – superb recognition for the efforts put in by all county officials, volunteers, players and parents.
The Order of Merit winners for each section then received their prizes.
Wrag Barn’s Kyle Campbell won the U18 gross prize, with North Wilts’ Nathan Pike taking the nett award.
At U16 level, award winners were the Wiltshire’s Ben Mazzotta (gross) and High Post’s Bradley Fitz-Henry-Roe (nett).
Upavon’s Tom Scullion (gross) and Marlborough’s Oscar Oliver (nett) led the way amongst the U14 age group.
At U12 level, prizes went to Tidworth’s Ayden Knight (gross) and Wrag Barn’s Jakob Venables (nett).
Prizes in the girls’ section went to Broome Manor duo Olivia Bannon (gross) and Niamh Cripps (nett).
The last three trophies of the day are given to the most improved players of the year in the Development, Performance and Elite squads.
North Wilts duo Ben Holgate (Development) and Joe Barker (Performance) and Cumberwell’s Callym Bygrave (Elite) were the winners.
