CLARRIE Dunbar's winning start to the indoor bowling season in national and regional team competitions continued last weekend with three more successes.
The Standerwick-based club march on in the men’s top inter-club event for the Denny Cup as well as the Central region of the Wessex League.
Dunbar's men had opened their Denny Cup campaign with a thumping 75-36 victory over MidGlos (Brockworth, Gloucester).
They followed it up with another impressive win in round two, thrashing Bristol City & County 73-37.
Now they face Worcestershire side Malvern Hills in round three next on November 17.
Clarrie made an excellent start to their Wessex League campaign with an 82-57 triumph over Chippenham-based North Wilts.
They took the honours on three of the four rinks, with Andy Colebrook’s foursome at home winning by 11 shots, although Russell Francis’ quartet lost 24-18.
However, away in North Wilts, both Dunbar teams were successful.
John Freeman’s foursome ran out 25-9 victors, while Dale Taylor edged home in a tight match 17-13.
The three rink successes earned Clarrie six points to go with the eight for the overall win.
Clarrie’s next Wessex League match is on December 2 against Purnell (Paulton).
Clarrie's ladies reached the third round in the Yetton Trophy, the top ladies inter-club competition, without bowling a wood in anger.
They were awarded a walkover as scheduled opponents Purnell conceded the match.
Clarrie are now scheduled to meet Nailsea in round three on November 17.
