WITH last season’s Premier Division champions Corsham CC Wildcats no longer in the Shoestrings Chargrill Chippenham & District Sunday League, this season’s battle for silverware sees runners-up Pheasant FC at the forefront of the running.
Pheasant don't start their season until a week on Sunday, but Melksham Town (Sunday) visit newly-promoted FC North Wiltshire at their new home in Seend.
Bell By The Green (formerly Cavalier) host North Star Club at Beversbrook, while FC Bradford welcome last season’s Division Two winners Box Rovers, who opted to go straight to the top flight rather than Division One.
Semington FC, who topped Division One last term, host Bath Road who they beat 3-1 in both of their meetings on their way to winning the title.
In Division One, Melksham rivals The Foresters Arms and New Inn Wacker (formerly Forest AFC) lock horns on the opening day.
Fox & Hounds (Warminster) were twice beaten by Bromham last season in the villagers' Division Three title campaign and the two meet again.
Local rivals Brunel FC (formerly Buttercross) and Kingfisher meet at Sutton Benger, while Calne United are scheduled to host Sutton Benger and Westbury Railway entertain Faded FC.
The league welcomed six new sides, all of which will kick off their quest in Division Two.
Newcomers Audley FC line up against fellow new boys Lion & Fiddle, as Trowbridge-based Gloucester Conservative FC have acquired a few former Warminster Wanderers players.
Two more of the newcomers are scheduled to meet each other at Great Somerford where Somerford host Worton & Cheverell.
Wednesday Warriors, the sixth new side, face The Mallard.
