ROUND six of the N G Road Race Championships took place at Donington Park at the weekend, with Broughton Gifford's Travis Vince featuring in the Dymag 250cc National and N G Cup.
Riding his T Z 250cc Yamaha, Vince encountered mechanical issues during the first lap of his qualifying session – and consequently failed to get back out on track for the remainder of the session.
It meant the Wiltshire racer had to start the first race from the back of the grid.
Undeterred by this, Vince made smart progress through the field and crossed the line in 17th – meaning he had gained 23 places from the start of the race.
The second race saw further improvement for Vince, who finished 12th while scooping third place in the N G Cup Class.
Elsewhere, Melksham’s Russell Hynes secured a trio of third places in his three Metzeler DTR Streetstock 700cc races on his 675cc Triumph.
The next round of the series takes place of familiar territory for both riders at the Castle Combe race circuit.
