NORTH Star Club lifted this season’s Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy following their 2-0 triumph over local rivals Calne BFC at Corsham Town’s Southbank.
Joe Child and Jake Gleed picking up a goal each for North Star, with the latter also named man of the match.
Premier Division
CORSHAM CC Wildcats out on a five-star display to beat visitors FC Bradford 5-3.
Coming into the game, Wildcats knew they could not afford any slip-up in their pursuit of top spot, which is currently held by Pheasant.
Mark Robinson was their hero with four goals, while Lewis McCarron got the other.
Aaron Thornton struck twice and Mark Maguire once for Bradford.
Pheasant were able to keep their lead at the top to four points after a 5-2 win at home to Melksham Town Sunday.
Melksham’s Sean Fordham opened the scoring before Pheasant responded through a Rich Hudson header.
The visitors re-took the lead from another Fordham goal but the scores were level again five minutes before half time when Nick Manifold notched.
Pheasant took the lead for the first time when Manifold was chopped down in the box, allowing Hudson to fire home from the spot.
Mark Dolman got Pheasant’s fourth and their haul was completed when Rob Pocock lashed home from 45 yards with his weaker foot.
Division One
CAVALIER picked up three crucial points with a 6-2 victory over Sutton Benger.
Adam Bewley stuck twice, with Daniel Arnold, Mike Both, Kevin Jenn and Oscar Webster also on target. Benger’s goalscorers were Luke Todd and Jason Cole.
Semington climbed up to second in the table after a 4-2 success away at bottom side St George.
Stu Barber opened the scoring for Semington after a good ball from Ed McCormack, who then got one himself to double the lead at the break.
St George got a goal back through Liam Gibbens early in the second half but Rich Allum soon restored the two-goal lead with a header.
Craig Sheppard got a second for St George after a goalmouth scramble but Semington wrapped up the win when Dean Shaw struck late on.
Division Two
SEAN Horobin’s four-timer fired The Foresters Arms to a 6-2 defeat of Warminster Wanderers.
Nathan Drew and Oliver Elmes also notched for the victors, with Conor Green and Jamie Hows replying for Warminster.
Box Rovers remain on course to be champions after an 8-0 drubbing of FC Libby.
Adam Taylor led the charge with a hat-trick, Justin Flowers and Leigh Rogers got two each and there was one for James Gardner.
Division Three
JUST one game took place in the bottom tier and a tight battle unfolded as Fox and Hounds edged out Kingfisher 3-2.
Brenden Hind was the match-winner after scoring a hat-trick, with Kingfisher’s goals coming from Josh Griffiths and Joshua Pullin.
