HAVING claimed the scalps of Bath Road and Westbury Rangers in earlier rounds, third division Foresters Arms saw their AM Print & Copy-sponsored Knockout Cup adventure come to an end with a 4-1 home loss to Division One outfit Corsham Oak.
Foresters saw Nathan Drew’s opener cancelled out by Aaron Masson who got Corsham back on level terms prior to half time. After the break Nathan Lynch scored a 30-yard screamer to put Corsham 2-1 up, a second from Masson made it 3-1 and Ed Sibbick completed the scoring to set up a semi-final showdown with Corsham CC Wildcats next weekend.
Semington FC, who reached the Knockout Cup final in 2016, have made it through to the last four after they defeated first division stablemates Cavalier 4-2 to set up a semi-final meeting with Box Rovers next Sunday.
Goals from Rich Allum and Chris Dore gave Semington a 2-0 lead. Cavalier got themselves back on level terms before half-time courtesy of goals from Ashley Lock and James Stobart and even had the chance to take the lead but Mike Booth was twice denied by the woodwork.
Rich Allum got Semington back on track with his second of the morning when he scored from the penalty spot, two minutes after the restart and a third from Allum made the game safe for Semington who finished the game with 10 players after they lost Jon McChesney through injury.
