CALNE BFC and local rivals North Star Club booked their place in the final of this season’s Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy after semi-final victories over FC Bradford and Westbury Rangers respectively.
Calne, who have lost all their eight of their Premier Division matches to date, including two defeats at the hands of Bradford, upset the formbook with a 3-0 victory to make it to their first-ever final.
After an evenly-matched opening half hour, Calne broke the deadlock through Ally Duncan who fired home to give his team a half-time lead.
A glorious run from Darren Holcombe saw him pick out Aaron Clegg who made it 2-0 on 75 minutes and Windsor scored from the penalty spot to wrap it up.
Division Two North Star Club ended the hopes of top-flight Westbury Rangers with a 6-1 win at Meadow Lane.
Jake Gleed’s 37th minute strike separated the teams at the break, Kieron Gleed doubled Calne’s lead on 46 minutes and although DJ Wheeler pulled a goal back for Westbury on 50 minutes, it was just a consolation.
Ryan Witchell made it 3-1 in the 54th minute but Kieron Gleed stole the show as he netted a further three times.
