The fourth round of the Airsprung Sue Cunningham Shield was fished on the Consortium section of the Kennett & Avon canal in damp dark conditions where it was almost impossible to see the float in the final half hour.
Winner on the night was Rich Whitmarsh with 7lbs 12ozs of skimmer bream plus roach caught on red maggot.
Steve Martin came second with a similar catch weighing 5lbs 12 ozs, while third was Tony Scott 5lbs 10ozs.
Whitmarsh comfortably leads the points to date with 42, ahead of Bill Turner on 33.
- THE Tuesday O55s club fished Rood Ashton, where K Gingell caught carp to win with 49lbs 8ozs. D Baker brought in 42lbs 12ozs to take the runners-up spot.
Other placings: 3 J Blackmoor 42lbs, 4 J Cambell 33lbs 2ozs, 5 E Jones 29lbs 4ozs, 6 D Bird 17lbs 12 ozs.
- THE carp fed well on Sunday in the Wiltshire Angling match at Rood Ashton despite everyone getting wet due to the inclement weather.
Robbie Kepner maintained his good form to coming first with a 110lb haul of carp, while Ian Willets finished as runner up after claiming a load of 91lbs 8ozs.
Other placings: 3 Pete Neate 87lbs 6ozs, 4 T Martin 81lbs 8ozs.
