PAUL Brown, from Devizes, took top honours in the Trowbridge Seniors match fished at La Farge.

On the day, Brown won with a carp catch weighing 22lb 8oz on method feeder-fished red maggots.

Jim Campbell from Melksham took the runner-up spot with a carp and bream catch weighing 21lb 4oz taken on feeder-fished red maggots, while Lavington’s John Blackmore and Tony Brack, from Melksham, tied for third with 21lb 0oz.

Other placings: 5 Jim Escott (Melksham) 15lb 8oz; 6 Dickie Bird (Melksham) 15lb 0oz.

  • THE Airsprung Evening match on Friday, fished on the Kennet & Avon Canal, saw Dean Adams from Bradford take the top prize with a skimmers and eels catch weighing 7lb 0oz taken on pole-fished red maggots.

Dave Morrison from Trowbridge was runner-up with roach and skimmers catch weighing 6lb 8oz taken on pole-fished double pinkies.

  • TOP Honours at the Blue Circle Open on Saturday went to Kevin Grant from Trowbridge with a carp catch weighing106lb 6oz, taken on waggler-fished pellets.

Pete Neate from Holt took runner-up spot with a carp catch weighing 63lb 0oz taken on feeder fished pellets. Gerald Lugg from Beckington took third prize with a carp catch weighing 44 lb 2 oz taken on method feeder fished sweetcorn.

  • THE Wilts Angling Open match fished on Sunday at Avalon Fishery produced a close result.

Top honours went to Matt Skyme from Trowbridge with a carp catch weighing 74 lb 6 oz taken on waggler-fished pellets. Pete Neate from Holt took runner-up spot with a carp catch weighing 70 lb 4 oz taken on pole-fished paste. Robbie Kepner from Melksham clinched third prize with a carp catch weighing 54 lb 0 oz on pole-fished pellets.

  • TROWBRIDGE'S Tom Ince won the Airsprung Committee match fished at Leech Pool on Sunday with a carp catch weighing 125lb 14oz taken alternating with pole-fished pellets and luncheon meat.

Richard Whitmarsh from Frome took runner-up spot with a carp catch of 84lb 4oz taken alternating with pole fished pellets and paste.
