MELKSHAM’S Robbie Kepner triumphed in the Wilts Angling Open match at Viaduct Fishery with a carp catch of 118lb 0oz.
Andy Weston, from Frome, took the runner-up spot with a carp catch of 112lb 0oz, with Trowbridge’s Geoff Matthews third with a carp catch of 103lb 0oz.
Other placings: 4 Ian Willetts (Bradford) 101lb 0oz; 5 Roland Lucas (Frome) 97lb 0oz; 6 Steve Martin (Frome) 96lb 0oz.
- Competitors in the Trowbridge Seniors match enjoyed good sport at Eden Vale as Dave Baker, from Trowbridge, took top honours with a carp and bream catch of 49lb 12oz.
Trowbridge’s Barry Oakford was runner-up with a carp, skimmers and roach catch of 20lb 4oz and Brian Ellis, from Melksham, was third with a carp and bream catch of 17lb 0oz.
Other placings: 4 Jim Escott (Melksham) 16lb 4oz; 5 Ken Gingell (Trowbridge) 11lb 8oz; 6 John Blackmore (Lavington) 8lb 12oz.
- Melksham’s Nathaniel Johnson carried off top prize in the Wilts Angling Open match at Todber Manor with a carp catch of 133lb 0oz.
Robin Guy, from Melksham, took runner-up spot with a carp catch of 122lb 14oz, while Matt Skyrne, from Trowbridge, was third with a carp catch of 97lb 8oz.
Other placings: 4 Mick Martin (Trowbridge) 87lb 0oz; 5 Mark Harper (Preston Innovation Thatchers) 86lb 14oz; 6 Ian Willetts (Bradford) 73lb 6oz.
- Drennan Bordon Angling took team honours at the second round of the Kennet & Avon Canal Teams of Four Spring League match on the Kings Arms, Whaddon and Pound Lane stretches.
They finished with 89 points, followed by Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG Green with 72 and Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG Gold on 70.
Individual honours went to Richard Chave (Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG) with a skimmers catch of 16lb 3oz. Simon Keifer (Drennan Bordon Angling) was runner-up with a skimmers catch of 10lb 3oz 8dm and Chris Steffan (Drennan Bordon Angling) third prize with a skimmers catch of 8lb 15oz.
