COMPETITORS in the Wilts Angling Open match enjoyed excellent sport on Sunday at Shearwater.
Ian Willetts, from Bradford, carried off to prize with a bream catch weighing 86 lb 15 oz. Matt Skyrme, from Trowbridge, took runner up spot with a bream catch weighing 72 lb 5 oz, followed by Nigel Franks, from Chippenham, in third prize with 56 lb 8 oz of bream.
Other placings: 4. Rob Kepner Melksham 53 lb 8 oz; 5. Pete Neate Holt 54 lb 6 oz; 6. Alan Parsons Devizes 49 lb 4 oz.
BRISTOL Water has announced its prices for the 2016 season which opens in just under a month.
A full permit for the season for all waters will be £830, for Chew and Barrows £670 and for the Barrows £525. A weekend permit for all waters will be £330.
Concessionary prices for Monday to Friday will be £57 for all waters, £470 for Chew and Barrows and £375 for the Barrows. Juniors under 18 £410 for all waters, £330 for Chew and Barrows and £250 for the Barrows.
Boat permits per day for season ticket holders are £14 Blagdon, £12 Chew and £9 the Barrows. Season tickets run from March 1 to November 30.
The opening days are season ticket opening day March 1 and official opening March 3. Blagdon Season Ticket opening day March 8 and official opening day March 10. Chew Valley season ticket opening day March 15 and official opening day March 17.
