THE Sensas Commercial House League Christmas match fished on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Bathampton produced excellent sport, writes COLIN SCULL.

Martin Rayet, of Stand & Deliver, carried off top prize with a roach and skimmers catch of 24 lb 12 oz.

Jon Harvey, of Preston Innovation Thatchers Black, took runner-up spot with a roach and skimmers catch of 14 lb 9 oz, followed by Mike Goodhind, of M & N Electrical, with 13 lb 2 oz of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4 Kevin Dicks (Maver Bathampton Elite) 12 lb 8 oz; 5 Sean Townsend (Maver Bathampton Elite) 12 lb 4 oz; 6  Andy Britt (Maver Bathampton Elite) 10 lb 5 oz.

THE Trowbridge Open Christmas match fished on Sunday on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Seend Park and Devizes Pile produced excellent sport.

Nigel Smith, from Calne, carried off top prize with a roach and skimmers catch of 14 lb 12 oz.

There was a tie for runner-up spot between Devizes’ Kevin Rowles and Liam Braddell, from Chippenham, with 10 lb 10 oz roach catches.

Other placings: 4 Mike Marsden (Trowbridge )10 lb 8 oz; 5 Nick Johns (Trowbridge) 9 lb 12 oz; 6 Kevin Abigail (Westbury) 8 lb 11 oz.
