BRADFORD’S Jim Butcher took top honours in the Thursday Open match at Viaduct Fishery with a carp catch of 122lb 6oz.
Other placings: 2 Roy Worth (Bait Tech Viaduct) 52 lb 3 oz , 3 Terry Mackett (Isle of Wight) 48lb 15oz.
The second round in the Bait Tech Viaduct Silverfish Winter League produced good fishing as Don Sutherland, of Maver, took top honours with a skimmers catch of 33lb 14oz.

Competitors found mixed sport in the Trowbridge Seniors match at Eden Vale. Top honours on the day went to Brian Ellis, from Melksham, with a carp and roach catch of 32lb 0oz.

Weights were fairly even in the Bathampton over 55/disabled match at Bridge Pool. Bath’s Dave Bacon led they way with a carp and skimmers catch of 31lb 15oz.

Competitors struggled to find fish in the Lavington match fished at Baldham Mill, however, West Lavington’s Graham Pearce coped best to take victory with a roach, dace and gudgeon catch of 1lb 5oz 8dm.
Other placings: 2 Don Keates (Hilperton) 1lb 4oz, 3 Mark Williams (Devizes) 1lb 2oz, 4 Kevin Morris (Devizes) 13oz, 5 Andy Jones (Devizes) 12 oz; 6 Mark Easey (West Lavington) 7oz.
Roger Doughty had a fine day at the Wessex Water trout fisheries, taking a splendid 13lb 6oz rainbow, while Ian Brewer took a rainbow of 11lb 11oz.
