COMPETITORS enjoyed good sport on Tuesday in the Trowbridge Seniors match fished at Rood Ashton, writes COLIN SCULL.
There was little to choose among the top five as in-form Dave Baker, from Trowbridge, chalked up another win with 34 lb 8 oz of carp.
John Blackmore, from Lavington, pushed him all the way with 34 lb 4 oz of carp, followed by Tony Brack, from Melksham, with 33 lb 8 oz of carp.
Other placings: 4. Barry Oakford Trowbridge 33 lb 6 oz; 5. Ken Gingell Trowbridge 332 lb 12 oz; 6. Paul Brown Devizes 21 lb.
WEIGHTS were fairly even in the Wilts Angling Open match fished at Eden Vale on Sunday.
Stuart White, from Chippenham, took top honours on the day with a carp and skimmers catch weighing 42 lb 2 oz.
Ian Willetts, from Bradford, pushed him hard to finish a close runner up with a carp catch weighing 41 lb 1 oz.
Paul Sims, from Frome, clinched third prize with a carp and skimmers catch weighing 35 lb.
Other placings: 4. Nigel Saunders Melksham 33 lb 10 oz; 5. Dean Adams Bradford 28 lb 13 oz; 6. Richard Brimble Westbury 23 lb 13 oz.

Tom Ince, from Trowbridge, took top spot with a carp catch weighing 91 lb 8 oz.
Ken Rayner, from Bristol, took runner up spot with a carp catch weighing 72 lb 12 oz, with Kevin Hanson, from Trowbridge, third with 62 lb of carp.
Other placings: 4. Tony Scott Swindon 46 lb 8 oz; 5. Bill Turner Trowbridge 33 lb 8 oz; 6. Andy Fox Hilperton 31 lb 12 oz.
