THE European Fly Fishing Championship Team Final was held at Chew and Blagdon last week.
The majority of anglers reached double figures on the practice days, a brown trout of 7lb 1oz was tempted by C Bobby and a rainbow trout of 8lb 0oz caught by M Griffiths.
Chew produced a total catch of 840 fish, averaging 2lb 8oz, while at Blagdon 653 fish were caught at an average of 2lb 8oz.
On the Wessex Water trout fisheries, 248 fish were taken at Clatworthy at an average of 2.9. Michael Close led the way with a five fish limit for 24lb 2oz.
