TROWBRIDGE racing driver Dan Blake will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing Brands Hatch when the Carbon 8 and Activa Consultants Hyundai Coupe Cup travels to Norfolk's Snetterton this weekend.

Blake saw his AVO Rookie Of The Year lead halved at Brands Hatch as Matthew Plumb took both victories at the Kent circuit in rounds five and six to make it 4-2 in favour of the Trowbridge driver.

The first race on Sunday will see the season hit the halfway point at round seven of 14. The races this weekend will be extended by five minutes, and be run over 20 minutes instead of the regular 15.

Blake said: " Brands Hatch was a bit disappointing for me results-wise. After the high of the podium at Castle Combe I was hoping to have been a bit higher up at Brands.

"The season is far from over though and it is still all to play for. Matthew drove very defensively and kept me behind despite all the pressure I put on him. Snetterton is a lot different to Brands, it is more like Castle Combe as it is a pretty fast track."

The races will be held on the Snetterton 200 layout and the Power Maxed Racing and Mini Torque backed racer has high hopes for the meeting.

" At Brands the car did not feel as good as it did at Brands, I have identified the areas which I feel may need to be tweaked slightly and will be doing a test day on Friday.

"This is to try and counter those to enable me to have the best chance of a good result on Sunday. I am also going to be racing in The Nippon Challenge races on the Saturday.

"There are 35 drivers entered for the Nippon Challenge in all sorts of cars ranging from Subaru Impreza's and Nissan Skyline's to cars like my Coupe.

"On Sunday my main aim is to maintain if not increase my Rookie lead, that is the main priority and goal for the season. It will be interesting to see how I can bounce back from the disappointment of the last meeting."
