FOLLOWING the early-morning withdrawal from the league by AFC Avellinos it left opponents and title favourites FC Buscots with another free weekend in Division Two.
Matt Rusling’s Southwick Wanderers were left seeking a victory at Potterne CFC that would have taken them back to the top of the table.
But like in their first meeting, that Potterne won 4-2, Southwick found their hosts on top form as Pete Huntley’s side produced a clinical show of finishing as they romped home winning 7-1 to claim their third straight win.
Neil Clark’s double and a first goal for the club from Darren Brown put Potterne 3-0 up before Craig Sheppard scored for Wanderers but his first-half effort proved to be nothing more than a consolation as two more goals from Clark in the second period to his tally for the morning to four.
A goal apiece for Ben House and Craig Townsend made up the villagers' seven.
MATCH OFF: FC Buscots v AFC Avellinos.
