FROME Town boss Adrian Foster saluted his players’ ‘tremendous’ efforts after they hauled themselves up to 12th in the Calor League Premier Division.

The Robins came from behind four times against St Neots Town to win a goal-fest on Wednesday evening and Foster is thrilled to see his team in mid-table.

“When I use the app on my phone to check the league table, I’m used to scrolling down to find us but on Thursday morning, it was nice to see our name straight away,” said the Badgers Hill chief.

“The players have been absolutely tremendous. We were fourth from bottom when I came in and to be up to mid-table now is amazing.

“It would be a shame if we didn’t carry it on and not lose for the rest of the season.”

Ben Wood’s strike cancelled out Shane Tolley’s opener before St Neots’ Lewis Hilliard fired home a penalty after a handball in the Frome area.

Seconds after Matt Groves had driven home another equaliser, Tolley slotted home again late in the half to make it 3-2.

Rhys Baggridge headed home his ninth goal of the season eight minutes into the second period but the visitors netted a controversial fourth as the referee allowed a quick free-kick to be taken, despite stopping to talk to an out-of-position Frome defender.

Tolley slid home his hat-trick goal, which was allowed to stand by the officials, but the final equaliser came when Jack Vallis poked home from Jon Vance’s free-kick.

Then, after Ricky Hulbert was bundled over in the area, Kris Miller fired home the winner from the spot.

St Neots’ Arthur Lee was shown a straight red card for dissent late on as the visitors ended an extraordinary evening with 10 men.

Foster added: “I thought there would be goals but I didn’t expect us to concede four at home. It was great to win it though.”

Baggridge and Brandon Mundy scored last weekend as Frome relegated Bedford Town with a 2-0 victory at the Eyrie.

Tim Stephenson returns for tomorrow’s clash with fourth-placed play-off chasers Stourbridge.
