MELKSHAM cemented their place in mid-table as they edged out their Bath visitors.
The home side off to a quick start with Matt Glover scoring a try on his return to the first teamy.
Midway through the half, Melksham struck again through Simon Foster, but Combe battled back and got on the board with their opening try just before half time.
Determined play from both sides led to penalties being traded until Ben Brown drove over from the back of a maul to score Melksham’s third try in the second half.
A Combe converted score brough them to within three points, but Melksham maintained their advantage in a tense final quarter.
