SUNDAY’S Wilts Angling Open match at Rood Ashton was won by Kevin Rowles from Devizes with 137 lb of carp.
Ian Willetts, from Bradford, took runner up spot with 112 lb of carp, while in-form Stuart White, from Chippenham, was third with 94 lb 8 oz of carp.
Other placings: 4. Pete Neate Holt 75 lb 8 oz; 5. Sean Rhodes Trowbridge 69 lb ; 6. Terry Fell Devizes 65 lb.
A TOTAL of 101 anglers lined the banks of the Kennet & Avon Canal between Wolfhall and Little Bedwyn on Sunday for the practice match for the Angling Trust semi final.
Martin Howard, of Daiwa Gordon League, took top honours with 20 lb 2 oz of perch and skimmers.
Simon Drew, of Oakwood Angling, took runner up spot with 18 lb of perch and skimmers, followed by Richard Chave, of Garbolino BVMG, with 15 lb 3 oz of roach and skimmers.
Other placings: 4. Mike Bernstein Garbolino BVMG 14 lb 15 oz; 5. Jason Kirk RN Angling 14 lb 4 oz; 6. Les Phirlaway Browning Andover 14 lb 2 oz.
