WEST Wilts Esprit Gymnastics Club held their annual Floor and Vault competition at Trowbridge, with a record number of 106 entries.
Four new categories – boys’ recreational, boys’ development, rhythmic and adults – were introduced, with the club using their new 12 metre square competition standard sprung floor for the first time.
The club’s rhythmic coach, Francesca Fox, who competed for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics, gave the audience with a demonstration of her skills on the new floor.
Head coach Sue Clark said: “The gymnasts all loved performing on our own competition floor and we now hope to host more competitions for Wiltshire throughout 2014, including one of the matches for the West Country League in November.
“We are just coming up to the end of our first year as an independent company, and we are really happy that we have been able to re-invest in the club in this way, and we are now looking to improve our training facilities in 2014.
