WARMINSTER Town Reserves gave manager Andy McFerran the perfect birthday present on Wednesday night when they beat fellow first division side North Bradley to claim the final spot in the semi-finals of this seasons Briken Motors & AM Print & Copy-sponsored A&B Cup.
The reward for McFerran's men, who progressed to the last four thanks to a 2-0 victory, is a trip to Meadow Lane next Tuesday evening where they will go head-to-head with Westbury United Reserves for a place in this season’s final.
After wasting a glorious chance to give the Weymouth Street club the lead in the opening 10 minutes Shaun Tarr atoned for his miss by giving the hosts the lead on 22 minutes with his first-ever goal for the club.
Warminster had to soak up a lot of pressure in the second half as Bradley hunted down an equaliser, but the hosts broke with menace and got lucky on one of their forays into Bradley’s half.
Phil Little sent a free kick into the Bradley area that evaded everyone and nestled into the visitors net to hand Warminster a 2-0 victory.
