WITH Castle FC safely through to the Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy semi-finals, on Sunday afternoon they will hopefully know on Sunday teo of the other three sides who will line up with them in the last four as two of the delayed quarter-final ties will be played out.
Third Division outfits Pig & Whistle United and Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) go head-to-head at Awdry Avenue in Melksham and for Worton this game will give them a second bite of the cherry for cup glory, as they were beaten by North Star B in the previous round but reinstated after the Star had played an ineligible player in that game.
Neither team has seen much action since the start of December but with United playing last week, they may have a slight advantage over Chris Cole’s side.
First Division high-flyers Somerford are having one of their best-ever seasons and they will start their game at home to Third Division Sportzcoach Dragonz United as huge favourites to make it through to the semi-final stages and keep their hopes of a league and cup double alive.
Sportzcoach stand in their way and on paper this should be a David verses Goliath contest, but Sportzcoach have a few players who are more than capable of causing a cup shock and it they get things right on the day, the underdogs do have a chance.
