FOR A second week running Melksham Forest Community Centre missed out on the chance to close the gap on Division three leaders Corsham Centre Youth.

Steve Wakefield’s side would have expected to return to winning after losing to Cross Keys Rowde last Sunday but things didn’t go to plan in their derby day duel with Miller Sports B, who took the points and claimed the bragging rights over their local rivals thanks to a 3-0 win.

Harry Waylan’s first-half penalty put Miller ahead and when Waylan grabbed his second of the morning, also from the penalty spot, it was curtains for the Community Centre who defeat was confirmed by Nathan Drew who netted Miller’s third after being set up by a defence splitting through ball from his manager Tim Knight.

Bremhill View Boys 2 White Horse B 1

A 2-1 HOME win for Bremhill View Boys over White Horse (Sunday) B coupled with a defeat for Melksham Forest moved Chris Edes' side up from fourth spot to second place to get their promotion challenge back on track after back to back defeats in November had seen it come off the rails.

Goals from Dave Lymath and Liam Jones put Bremhill 2-0 up at the break and although Paul Bendell halved the deficit for White Horse in the second period they were unable to come up with a second as Bremhill tightened things up at the back as they held on for to claim their seventh win of the season.

Oakhill FC 3 Cavalier FC 2

Cavalier lost out in a five-goal classic to Oakhill who couldn’t explain how they had come away with a win from a game that was controlled by Cavalier but in the end won 3-2 by the Chippenham based side.

Jay Bowers' opener for Cavalier was wiped out by Callum Eacott, a second from Eacott put Oakhill 2-1 in front but they were unable to keep their advantage as Jeremy Wiltshire struck an unstoppable 25-yard thunderbolt to take the teams in for the interval locked at two-apiece.

Both team had chances in the second period to add to their first half goals with the better ones falling to Cavalier, but thanks to a hat-trick goal from Eacott, Oakhill were able to claim only their fifth win of the season and their first on home soil.

The Mallard FC 3 Cross Keys Rowde 4

THE Mallard FC and Cross Keys Rowde fought out a seven-goal thriller that saw the latter win 4-3 to extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

Jamie Wallen’s first-half strike for Rowde was cancelled out by goals from Pete Westwood and Mark Frost to put Mallard 2-1 ahead.

Jamie Campbell added a third for Mallard in the second half but his goal counted for nothing as a second of the match for Wallen and a Matt Lever double sealed Rowde’s 4-3 win.
