GOING into their clash at Woodmarsh, Trowbridge Town Reserves were the only team to date to have taken a point off runaway Division Two leaders Lacock.

Dave Jenkins' side claimed a 3-3 draw at Meriton Avenue back in early September, but since then Joe Martin’s villagers have won eight on the spin, making them favourites to win the battle with their fellow title and promotion hopefuls.

But like their first meeting back in September the teams had to settle for another share of the spoils following an excellent 1-1 draw between the sides.

Lacock led at the break courtesy of an Andy Wilkins header who found the target after being set up by Stuart Tutty.

Trowbridge Town responded really well in the second period as they went in search of an equaliser that finally arrived 15 minutes from time when Barry Holloway scored with a glancing header to tie the scores.

Westbury Town 1 Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves 9

A WEEK after they upset the formbook with a 6-3 win over Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves to put a dent into Matt Rusling’s sides hopes of claiming an automatic promotion spot, Westbury Town were hoping to complete a quick-fire league double over their opponents when they clashed in the reverse fixture at Bratton.

On this occasion it was Wanderers who took the points as they avenged their previous loss in fine style as they destroyed their hosts.

Will Bayley led the scoring with five of the nine, Steve Jackson helped himself to a three timer and Ben Rogers single made up the nine.

Jordan Cain scored Westbury's consolation from the penalty spot at the start of the second half following a foul on Levi Wood.
