WEST Wiltshire youngsters performed well at the British Modern Biathlon Championships at Solihull last weekend.
James Gordon (St John’s Catholic Primary School Trowbridge) was 13th overall in the U11 boys event, behind Jack Fry, of Monkton Combe School, who was third overall.
Gordon, who competes for Team Bath AC and swims for Trowbridge ASC, ran a new personal in the 800m of 2:44.36 which secured him 1312 points and a personal best 50m swim time of 0:38.10 giving him a further 1210.
Corsham youngster Joshua Dreelan, of King Edwards School in Bath, was 17th overall, with Monkton Combe’s Scott Curtis 21st overall.
Other notable performances came from Will Andrews, of Fitzmaurice Primary School in Bradford on Avon, was 17th overall in the U10 boys event.
Edward Austin (St Augustine’s Catholic College) was ninth overall at U14 boys level.
