CHRIS Carr’s first division leaders North Bradley may have suffered their first loss of the season last weekend, when they were beaten by Semington Magpies, but the villagers were in an unforgiving mood in their Briken Motors & AM Print & Copy sponsored A&B Cup clash.

They put their third division opponents The Stiffs to the sword at Leighton Sports Centre, winning 8-1 to set up a quarter-final tie with either Bratton or Polenez Westbury.

A first goal of the season from Dave Sykes gave Bradley the lead which was doubled by Jordan Da Silva.

The Stiffs then shocked Bradley as they reduced the arrears courtesy of a 45 yard effort from Tony Patterson. Normal service was soon resumed as Joe Kirkpatrick regained a two-goal lead for Bradley and a first of the tie from John Baker put them 4-1 at half time.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Bradley scoring four more unanswered goals. John Baker found the net twice to complete a hat-trick and Scott Askew made up Bradley’s eight goal haul with a double.

Dave Carroll was denied what would have been a brilliant second for the Stiffs, who played over half the game with 10 men, when his 50-yard strike was only kept out by the width of a post.
