AFTER winning their opening five matches, Shaun Gardiner’s Westbury Rangers side were seen as possible S.K. Fruits Limited Chippenham & District Sunday League Premier Division title challengers.

However, defeat in their last two matches against defending champions Biddestone Social and Castle FC have somewhat derailed their hopes of success.

Rangers visit AFC Melksham, who could see the return of manager Mike Rogers, but unless his words of wisdom can inspire his team to their first win of the season it will be Rangers who pick up the spoils.

With FC Colerne currently suspended by the Wilts FA, their game with joint leaders Castle FC is a major doubt as is the match at St Mary’s where Steeple Ashton Rangers are scheduled to host Bradford Renegades.

Since the start of the season Ashton have struggled to raise a team but on this occasion it is Renegades who may be forced to postpone.

After being rocked by the sudden departure of manager Lance Davis last weekend, former Trowbridge Wanderers and Bradford Town boss Dan Mercer has stepped in to save the club from folding.

However a week's grace may be needed as he sorts out things both on and off the pitch.
