BATH United will face Northampton Wanderers in the Aviva A League final next month after powering past Sale Jets in front of a capacity 6,000 crowd at the Rec last night.
The home side grabbed the lead on six minutes when centre Kyle Eastmond and wing Tom Biggs exchanged passes for the former to go over, Tom Heathcote converting.
They doubled their advantage when, from a driving maul, hooker Tom Dunn crossed with Heathcote again adding the extras.
Heathcote's kick to the corner set up the position from which the United scrum powered forward, referee Thomas Foley awarding a penalty try to allow Heathcote an easy third conversion and a 21-0 lead.
Heathcote added a penalty in the second half before Eastmond and the returning Olly Woodburn combined to set up Biggs for the fourth try.
A further Heathcote penalty stretched the advantage further and the fifth try arrived as scum-half Chris Cook was stopped just short, but Charlie Ewels ploughed over, Heathcote adding yet another conversion.
Sale responded late on with tries from Juan Crous and Charlie Ingall, both converted by Chris Johnson, who also added the extras as winger Tom Brady went over in the final action.
United will travel to Franklin's Gardens on Monday, December 16 to face Northampton Wanderers, who beat Quins A 39-30 in the other semi-final.
