BATH flanker Francois Louw could line up for South Africa against France at the weekend despite being stretchered off the pitch during his side's 28-0 win over Scotland at Murrayfield yesterday.

Louw suffered a neck injury in the dying moments of the match and was carried off the field in a brace, giving the thumbs-up to spectators as he went.

However, Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer said he believed it was only a precautionary measure, with Louw set to be monitored ahead of Saturday's match in Paris.

Louw has been shortlisted for the International Player of the Year and World XV of the Year awards.

The awards, part of the inaugural Ultimate Rugby IRPA Awards, will be decided by votes cast on Ultimate Rugby's mobile app, and announced in conjunction with other category winners on November 26.
