BATH Road FC surrendered their unbeaten start to the season after they were handsomely beaten 7-0 at Meriton Avenue by runaway Division Four leaders Corsham Centre Youth, whose latest win was their ninth on the bounce and maintained their 100 per cent record to date.

Bath Road held out for 30 minutes, but they were unable to stop a rampant Centre side from taking the lead on 30 minutes when Darrin Moss met a Sam Thomson cross to head his team in front.

Moss then added his and the Centre’s second on 35 minutes to leave Bath Road deflated going into the interval.

After the break four goals in a 10-minute spell killed off any remaining fight Bath Road had in them.

Atrademark thunderbolt from Ben Thomson made it 3-0, Max Shackleford was brought down in the area and Thomson scored from the spot for 4-0.

Two more goals from Moss took his tally to four and a third of the morning for Thomson allowed the Centre to cruise home to win number nine.

Bremhill View Boys 0 Oakhill 3

BREMHILL View Boys saw their hopes of finishing top of the table disappear after they were beaten 3-0 at home by Chippenham based Oakhill FC, who were expected to be on the wrong end of a hammering, but turned the table on their guests.

Without suspended top scorer Clint Couzens, Oakhill were hoping that someone else would step up and take over the goalscoring duties and the visitors to Beversbrook weren’t disappointed as Jordan Tarrant gave them a first-half lead before second goals from Callum Eacott and Nathan Merrett netted their first ever strikes for the club to seal their 3-0 success.

Cavalier FC 2 Melksham Forest Community Centre 5

WITH other results going their way, Melksham Forest Community Centre’s 5-2 victory at Cavalier FC has seen them move into second place behind runaway leaders Corsham Centre Youth.

Forest, who suffered their first loss in five games the previous week, made a welcome return to winning ways with a victory that also saw them complete a league double over their hosts, who they had beaten 2-0 previously this term.

Cavalier who had picked up four points from their last two outings lead through Andy Holman before the hosts turned the game in their favour, Dan Goldsworthy helping himself to a hat trick and Conner Church and Jake Goldsworthy scoring a goal apiece to make up the five.

Dan Rance completed the morning’s scoring when he added a second for Cavalier which, like Holman’s first-half strike, proved nothing more than a consolation.

Cross Keys Rowde 3 Miller Sports B 4

MILLER Sports B picked up their first win in five outings as a last-minute winner from hotshot Harry Waylen earned them a 4-3 win at Cross Keys Rowde.

After falling behind to a Jamie Wallen goal Miller equalised through top scorer Waylen, who received a through ball from Brendan Knight and as slotted home to make it 1-1.

Miller then took the lead as Nathan Drew who has impressed all season put in a deep cross which player manager Tim Knight powered home with a diving header.

Miller allowed Rowde back into the game in the second half and found themselves 3-2 down as a second from Jamie Wallen and a frist of the season for Joe Merritt put the hosts 3-2 in front.

Miller never let their heads drop and they got back on level terms when another Drew cross caused all sorts of problems for the Rowde defence and flew straight in over the home teams keeper.

The game was won the game in the dying seconds as Nathan Jenkins played in Waylen who stayed calm to slot home his second and Miler’s fourth to seal an excellent win for the Melksham-based side.

The Mallard FC 3 White Horse (Sunday) B 3

CHRIS Webber’s White Horse (Sunday) B side came from behind on three occasions to claim a share of the points from their trip to Buckley Barracks after a late goal earned them a 3-3 draw against The Mallard FC.

A Mark Frost goal for the Mallard separated the team at the break. Simon Hillman rolled back the years to head White Horse level, but the visitors let Mallard back in an Connor Dodds regained the lead for the hosts.

Back came White Horse and parity was restored for a second time thanks to a blistering left footed volley from Dan Peters that took a deflection before finding its way into the net.

With the game heading for a draw, Mallard would have thought that they had stolen all the points when a second from Connor Dodds gave them the lead with just a couple of minutes left.

However the visitors never say die attitude saw them fight to the death and with time almost up the youthful Steve Tucker went one-on-one with the hosts' keeper and kept his nerve as he finished with aplomb.
