THREE-TIME defending S.K. Fruits Limited Chippenham & District Sunday League Premier Division champions Biddestone Social claimed a 3-1 victory at home to fellow title hopefuls Westbury Rangers, who fell from the top of the pile to second spot as Ashley Smith’s side moved from third to the summit after inflicting Shaun Gardiner’s side with their first loss of the season.
Biddestone lost goalkeeper Lewis Porter for a professional foul before they started the scoreboard ticking over.
Jamie Lyons robbed a Westbury player in midfield to set up Nick Ridout for the opener on 35 minutes. Four minutes later, Lyons played a part in his teams second which he made for Leon Greenland.
After the break birthday boy Lyons capped a red letter day when he found the net himself after being picked out by a wonder pass from Dan Lardner on 50 minutes.
With the game seemingly won Biddestone switched off for a while and allowed Westbury back into the game on 62 minutes with Adie Chantry scoring what was to be just a consolation for the visitors to Yatton Road.
MATCH OFF: Semington Rovers v Steeple Ashton Rangers.
