BEN Wood blasted a midweek hat-trick to slay the Stags – but Robins boss Brian O’Donnell was not entirely satisfied despite his side’s thumping win.

Rhys Baggridge and Brandon Mundy also netted as the rampant Robins made it five wins from seven matches on the road so far this season.

The triumph took O’Donnell’s men, who won 2-1 at Arlesey on Saturday with goals from Wood and Matt Smith, up to the heady heights of 12th in the table.

But O’Donnell said: “I wasn’t entirely happy with it. I think we can play better and I’m looking for a better performance than that.

“We deserved the five goals, but we could have had more. Some of our play let us down.

“We’re trying to pass the ball better but, at times, it let us down a bit.

The Robins’ next task is to transfer their stunning road form to the Aldersmith Stadium, where they have not won in six league games this season.

Truro City are the visitors this weekend.

O’Donnell, who brought former Yeovil Town youngster George Russell in as his first signing this week, added: “We hope we can turn that around on Saturday and we’re trying our best to.’’

Town are just six points off a play-off spot, but that is of little interest to the new manager as he continues to assess his squad.

“It’s kind of irrelevant to me at the moment,’’ he said.

“As long as we keep winning, that’s all I’m worried about.

“We just have to concentrate on winning games.

“The players have responded well in the main, they’ve showed great character since I’ve been at the club.

“I’m always looking at new players, but they have got to be the right faces.

“I could bring five or six in now, but they wouldn’t be the players that we need.’’
