TROWBRIDGE’S rapid ascent up the Southern Counties South table continued as they romped to an 11-try success in Somerset.
Winger Ashley Chalk opened the scoring after five minutes and he was quickly followed by a hat-trick of scores from man of the match Lewis Jordan.
Ivel responded with their sole penalty, but Shane Johnstone crossed before half time, Lloyd Davis adding his first successful conversion for a 27-3 lead.
The visitors were dominant in the second half, overpowering the home defence.
Tries from Adam Sullivan, Karl Parry, Kyle Knight, Sam Edwards, a fourth from Jordan wrapped up the win, but the score of the match came from veteran back row Dan Smith, who galloped over from 40 metres.
Davis added a further 10 points in conversions.
