WARMINSTER slipped to their third defeat in a row as unbeaten Sherborne seized the Dorset & Wilts One South spoils at Folly Lane.
A frenetic start saw Alex Payne go close for the home side early on, but their tendency to give penalties away in ruck situations rescued the visitors, who took the lead with a three-pointer.
Warminster were looking dominant in in the scrums but their penalty count continued to rise and after both captains had been given a lecture by the referee, the amber and blues conceded one too many and second row Reid Curtis was sin-binned, Sherborne taking advantage to double their lead.
Jason Sprangle booted a kick for Warminster to cut the gap before the interval.
In the second half Sherborne began to take control, pinning Warminster back in their own half with good tactical kicking.
A further penalty restored the six-point advantage, but Warminster blew a golden opportunity as fly-half Gavin Pratt knocked on with the line beckoning after Adam Matthew had charged down a kick.
Sherborne seized territorial control and, with six minutes to go, grabbed an unconverted try to close out the win.
