MELKSHAM stayed in touch with an intriguing battle at the top of Dorset & Wilts One North with victory in their derby clash.
Calne were first on the scoreboard with a penalty but after 30 minutes, a quick reaction from Dave Dyke saw him gather an intercepted pass to go in under the posts, Rob Bailey adding the conversion.
Jerry Flower then scored from a catch and drive, Bailey adding the extras before Calne rallied with a converted score before the interval.
Melksham struck next with a run through the centre by Dyke for his second, Bailey converting.
The momentum was with Melksham and saw Phil Williams drive over for another score.
Calne added another try and both sides kicked a further penalty.
