TROWBRIDGE coach Steve Ojomoh saluted his side for making the most of the conditions as they ran 12 tries past Frome.
Ojomoh’s fourth-placed side routed their rivals, Lloyd Davis kicking 20 points at Doric Park.
The former Bath and England man said: “The wind was certainly a factor and we played very well with it.
“But what pleased me more was how we played without it.
“Now and then everybody comes together and it just clicks and the second half was probably the best performance from any Trowbridge team I have put out.’’
Pacy winger and man of the match James Mcfarlane bagged a hat-trick with further scores from Barry Coombs, Matt Howard, Shane Johnstone, veteran Mark Durrant, Ashley Chalk, Adam Sullivan, and Tom Weaver.
For the first quarter, both sides looked about even until Trowbridge using the blustery conditions to full advantage kept pinning the visitors back in their own half .
Taking control in rucks, mauls, and lineouts they forced mistakes in defence that lead to the two first-half penalty tries and a 38-0 lead.
Starting the second half against the elements should have put the home side under pressure, but with the forwards giving no quarter, they put on their best performance of open running rugby this season to score another 42 points.
