BATH head coach Mike Ford admits he is happy to receive complaints the like of Kyle Eastmond’s after their Aviva Premiership victory over Worcester, so as long as they keep winning.

Centre Eastmond relayed to Ford his lack of time with ball in hand as Bath inflicted a seventh Premiership defeat from seven on Dean Ryan’s Warriors with a 21-6 win at Sixways.

Anthony Perenise’s first-half try and Horacio Agulla’s effort just before the hour mark was enough for Bath, who also registered three George Ford penalties and a conversion.

Bath did score two more tries than the weekend before when they overcame West Country rivals Gloucester 15-13 with George Ford slotting five penalties on that occasion.

And, with Bath boasting two wins from two since the return of the Premiership after the European break, head coach Ford is happy to hear as many moans as possible.

“Worcester, like we thought they would do, came out and started the second half really well, they possibly could have got a try,” said Mike Ford.

“But we took out that purple patch that they had, and went and scored a try at the other end which killed the game and we saw the game out.

“All week we have been training in dry weather, and Kyle Eastmond has said to me ‘that’s the first rugby game that I’ve not touched the ball’.

“That’s what the conditions do to you sometimes; it’s not about playing rugby it’s about field position. I thought in general we played the field position really well.”

Three George Ford penalties had Bath leading 9-0 inside 15 minutes with Perenise going over for a converted score just before the half-hour mark to make it 16-0.

Worcester registered their first points thanks to Paul Warwick’s boot either side of half-time but Bath were rarely troubled and Agulla’s try in the 58th minute sealed the win.

And head coach Ford admitted to breathing a huge sigh of relief that Bath didn’t let Worcester back into the game as they have done with other sides this season.

“At half-time we talked about the lead we had against Leicester, the lead we had against London Irish and how we didn’t go and finish them off,” he added.

“Although the start to the second half was a bit jittery, I thought we got hold of the game and the substitutions were good and I was pretty pleased with the 80-minute performance.”
