LOCAL rivals Cross Keys Rowde and Cavalier shared the spoils in their Division Four Sands Lane derby day showdown after Andy Holman’s Cavalier came from 2-0 and 3-1 down to claim what was just their fourth point of the season.

Goals from Mark Roach and Ashley Armstrong put Cross Keys 2-0 up, Jeremy Wiltshire got Cavalier back in the game only for Matt Lever to restore a two-goal cushion for the home side.

In previous games Cavalier, who had shipped 29 goals in their last two outings would normally have imploded.

But with local pride and bragging rights at stake the dug deep and got back in the game thanks to a second from Wiltshire and thanks to a first-ever goal for the club from Jay Bowers they left their former home with a share of the spoils from their 3-3 draw.

Melksham Forest Community Centre 5 Oakhill FC 1

A 5-1 win for Melksham Forest Community Centre at home to Oakhill FC extended their unbeaten run to four games and saw them move ahead on an inactive Bath Road side into third spot.

Jake Goldsworthy’s goal for Melksham separated the teams at the break and two more from the in-form striker in the second period saw him complete a three timer. Luke Fisher and Adam Heath with a great free kick added the others.

Clint Couzens replied for Oakhill with his eighth goal to date.

Miller Sports B 2 White Horse (Sunday) B 2

A LATE goal for basement side White Horse (Sunday) B earned them a deserved draw at Miller Sports B who, after overturning a half-time deficit to lead 2-1, must have thought they were heading for their second victory of the season.

The evergreen Paul Bendell rolled back the years to give White Horse the lead on 14 minutes with a brilliant bicycle kick.

Two quick fire goals early in the second half from Nathan Drew and Russell Decarteret which was his first-ever league goal put Miller 2-1 in front and they had the chance to add a third but Jamie Hiscocks ballooned a 65th minute penalty over the bar.

The miss spurred White Horse into life and with five minutes remaining player/manager Chris Webber powered home a brilliant header to earn his team their share of the spoils.
