BROMHAM are enjoying one of their best ever starts to a season.
A 3-0 home win over basement side Chippenham West End was enough to see Danny Powell’s side open up a three-point lead at the top of the Division One table.
Bromham led 1-0 at the break after Ali Bradley’s low shot beat West End’s debutant keeper Jake Miles at his near post.
They scored their second in similar fashion when after good work in the area Freddie Paget drove home at the near post.
Paget, who is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal, took his tally for the season to 11 with a simple tap-in that saw him claim his second of the morning and wrap up victory number six of the season for the villagers.
Goatacre CC FC 3 King Arms (All Cannings) 0
GOATACRE CC FC's run of four home games began with a 3-0 success of a struggling Kings Arms (All Cannings) who after opening with a victory over Corsham Wildcats have managed just one win from last six outings.
Goatacre, who won both meetings of the teams last term, got their noses in front in the first half courtesy of a stunning 30 yard effort from Paul Dixon.
The cricketers sealed their latest win with two second half goals from Darren Holcombe.
North Star A 1 Prestige Bodyworks 3
NORTH Star A’s wait to end their winless run continues, a 3-1 defeat at home to an in-form Prestige Bodyworks being their seventh on the spin without victory.
For the victors it gave took their unbeaten start to six matches and catapulted them into second place above Somerford who game with Staverton was a casualty of the weather.
In an evenly matched game that saw North Star match their guests for long periods of the game, they deservedly got back on level terms after Adam O’Keeffe had put Prestige ahead as Matt Lang scored.
With the game nicely poised at one apiece going into the second half the next goal was always going to be important and it went the way of Prestige who regained the lead through Jamie Treweke who held his nerve to score from the penalty for 2-1.
They then wrapped up their latest success when Mark Nolan netted to make the score line 3-1.
