JUST THREE weeks after they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sportzcoach Dragonz United in the WG Parr Trophy, third division leaders Melksham Cosmos are set to meet their rivals again.
On this occasion, the result will be more important as a win for Sportzcoach would see them close the gap on their hosts to one point and with two games in hand, it would put them in pole position in the race for the title.
What should be another keenly fought contest between the sides may just end up with the points being shared but with their greater firepower, Dragonz may just clinch their sixth straight win of the season.
Christian Malford were involved in a rare goalless draw last weekend when they took a point off leaders Melksham Cosmos.
Next up for Malford are Pig & Whistle United, who go in off the back of an 8-0 win over Crossblades and having already beaten their hosts 7-4 in the Knock Out Cup this term, they will be favourites to clinch their fourth win of the season.
Crossblades have been involved in some thrilling games this term and Tim Chilton's side will be hoping to put things right when they entertain North Star B at Nurstead Road.
The Star go into the game having lost for the first time in six games but will be favourites to take the points on offer.
FC North Wiltshire will face Old Road FC for a second time this season and having lost their earlier encounter on the opening day of the season, they will be desperate to avenge that 4-1 defeat.
The teams finished first and second respectively in division four last term but since arriving in the division, the hosts have managed just one win from seven while Old Road have won three and will be favourites to complete a double over their rivals.
Two weeks ago, Trowbridge Town Supporters Club got the better of Wren FC in a ten-goal thriller, taking the points thanks to a 6-4 win.
The teams go head-to-head in the return clash at Beversbrook this weekend and if the match is half as exciting as the previous one, then there could a goal-fest to talk about.
