WILTSHIRE fighters took home the spoils at tonight’s bill at the Trowbridge Civic Centre.

Trowbridge’s Nick Blackwell got back to winning ways after his controversial WBA continental middleweight title defeat to Max Bursak last month by comfortably out-pointing Birmingham’s Max Maxwell 80-72.

‘Bang Bang’ Blackwell never moved out of second gear as he worked behind his powerful jab to see off the resilient Maxwell, claiming the 14th victory of his pro career.

Earlier in the night, the Contender Gym man’s younger brother Dan notched up his second victory in seven days as he won an exciting contest against Dee Mitchell.

The Trowbridge puncher, who claimed the first knockout of his career against Festim Lama earlier this month, got the better of Mitchell with some punishing shots and survived a late rally from the Birmingham fighter to claim a 40-37 points victory.

Meanwhile, Malmesbury welterweight Joe Hughes completed a successful comeback from a ring absence of over a year as he got the better of Manchester’s William Warburton.

A confident and controlled display from the former national ABA champ saw Hughes win 60-54.

In the opening bout of the night, Worthing’s Alex Dilmaghani got the better of Nuneaton’s Kristian Laight, who was competing in his 175th pro fight, 40-36.
